Het project RE-USE, gesteund door de Europese Unie en het Interreg Meuse-Rhine (NL-BE-DE) programma, richt zich op het versnellen van hergebruik van materialen in de bouwsector. Door barrières op het gebied van data, wet- en regelgeving en praktische uitvoering weg te nemen, ontwikkelt het project concrete tools om hergebruik in bouwprojecten te integreren. Dit gebeurt in samenwerking met regionale én grensoverschrijdende pilotprojecten.

Voor Parkstad Limburg betekent RE-USE een belangrijke impuls voor het Uitvoeringsprogramma Parkstad Circulair. Het project draagt direct bij aan het realiseren van circulaire ambities, het verminderen van afvalstromen en het efficiënter benutten van bestaande grondstoffen. Dit sluit naadloos aan bij de maatschappelijke opgaven van de regio, zoals duurzaam ruimtegebruik, energietransitie en het creëren van werkgelegenheid binnen de circulaire economie.
